TV remote doesn’t control connected HDMI devices when TalkBack is on.

IMPORTANT: This article applies only to specific products and/or operating systems. Check the Applicable Products and Categories section of this article. To check what type of TV you have, refer to the How to check if your BRAVIA TV is a Google TV™, Android TV™, or other TV article.

The TV does not support Key passing of CEC when the TalkBack feature is enabled. If you want to control a device connected via HDMI, disable the TalkBack feature.

    Notes:

    • Some models may have the option to use the Screen Reader feature instead of TalkBack.
    • For details on CEC Key passing or HDMI control, refer to the following:
control (often called HDMI-CEC, or Consumer Electronics Control) is a feature that lets your TV and other HDMI-connected devices communicate and control each other using a single remote.
Key passing means that button presses from the TV remote (like volume, play, pause, or navigation keys) are sent through the HDMI cable to control a connected device, such as:
      • A Blu-ray player
      • A soundbar or AV receiver
      • A set-top box
So instead of using multiple remotes, you can use the TV remote to control external devices, as long as both the TV and the connected device support HDMI-CEC and key passing.
