Install, download, transfer, start reading.
The Reader is just as easy to use as an MP3 player: once you have installed the intuitive Reader Library software (supplied), go to your favourite compatible eBookstore or library and download eBooks to your PC or Mac, then transfer the eBooks to your Reader using a hi-speed USB connection.

CPU: 800 MHz Intel® Celeron® class processor (or better). RAM: 128MB or more (minimum 512MB for Windows Vista)

HD: 20MB or more (depending on amount of content, more space may be required)

Other: Internet Connection (broadband suggested)

Port: USB (for Reader connection)

Device: Works with Reader Digital Book by Sony (Models: PRS-505, PRS-500, PRS-700, Reader Touch Edition™ and Reader Pocket Edition™).

 (Note: You do not need a device to use the service.)

 Using the PRS-500 with Windows® 7 operating system or 64-bit versions of Windows® Vista operating system will require a firmware update for the PRS-500.
