Why does FAILED appear on the LCD screen while recording a DVD?

Question:
FAILED displayed on the LCD screen while recording a DVD.
Answer:
This message may occur if the DVDirect DVD recorder was bumped or moved during the recording process. It also can occur if the cable connection between the recorder and camera is disconnected. Try not to bump or move the recorder, or disconnect the cable while recording.

Important: The disc that failed during recording cannot be used again and should be discarded. It is not advisable to insert the failed disc into a DVD player. Insert a new DVD disc into the recorder and begin the recording again.
