Sony has announced a new set of standards for television viewing in New Zealand, revealing its new 3D and Internet TV ready BRAVIA televisions.

The BRAVIA LCD TV line-up for 2010 consists of 26 new models and features a new design benchmark, enhanced picture quality technologies, 3D home entertainment and a whole new way to access TV content.

"2010 is a game-changing year for television and Sony is leading the way with the standard for 3D and Internet TV," said Martin McManus, Managing Director for Sony New Zealand. "We've combined amazing new technologies with easy access to on-demand content and introduced the Monolithic Design concept to shape our new range of BRAVIA LCD TVs. New viewing experiences: IPTV and 3D
The age of IPTV (Internet Protocol Television) arrives in New Zealand with the release of new BRAVIA LCD TVs that connect to the internet to allow viewers to explore a huge choice of content and services from the living room. Sony’s IPTV experience – BRAVIA Internet Video – is easily accessible through the TV’s XrossMediaBar™.

2010 will also see the reality of 3D quality entertainment in the home for the first time. Sony is accelerating its initiatives to deliver an array of 3D entertainment in the home this year, through Playstation 3 via firmware updates, 3D sources such as Blu-ray players, and 3D content.

Unique design adds elegance to the living room
Across the whole 2010 BRAVIA LCD TV line-up is a new Monolithic Design concept, which offers aesthetic appeal with a beautiful, simplified, minimal design.

With quality materials forming a flush screen surface with crisp edges and a smooth border, the models blend into the home’s interior and allow viewers to focus completely on screen images without distraction from unnecessary decorative elements. Also, selected Monolithic TVs recline at 6° to deliver the ideal viewing environment from contemporary, low furniture and add a sense of space to the living room.

The NX series is designed to enhance contemporary living with elegant design and connection to a huge choice of entertainment experiences. Featuring Monolithic Design, the NX series has built-in WiFi and access to BRAVIA Internet Video and BRAVIA Internet Widgets.
